Blue Mercury for iPhone is a fully featured file manager that allows you to store files to your iOS device. You can then manage the stored files right on your iPhone offline or transfer them to your computer. Search File and Music Manager Rolled into One

If you ask what Blue Mercury is, it is a full featured web browser wherein the start screen features the most frequent visited history entries. You can also easily open saved tabs on start up. That is, no need to type the URLs again. The search engine integration on the address bar comes handy if you want to search some information quickly. The available address bar search engine options include Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, StartPage wherein they can be changed App Settings > Search Engine. The search is found to be reliable and it returned precise results all the time we tried it out.

The URLs you have on the browser can be easily shared via Twitter or email. You also got FTP Server to transfer files in and out of the app. An efficient download manager that comes with the app takes care of your downloads. The file manager organizes files into different folders based on the file types. Blue Mercury for iPhone is also an efficient music manager. You can create playlists and background audio easily. The in-built multi format video/audio player allows you to play almost any video and audio format without leaving the app. You also got an option to extract audio from mp4 files. wmv, mpeg, mpeg1, mpeg2, mpeg4, 3gp, sf, avi, divx, dv, gxf, m2p are some of the file types supported by the app. Last but not the least, Blue Mercury for iPhone also provides Chromecast/Google Cast support. But you can unlock said feature only through an IAP.

Final Take

Blue Mercury for iPhone has a well-designed UI. The browser layout is standard. As you select a downloaded file, a pop up provides multiple options for operation. As a music manger, it performs well enough. The music player is robust, and it works with almost all the common music file types. It is a nice touch that you can select the search engine you wish to have on the browser. Performance wise, the app is stable and responsive. Check it out if you want a browser, file manager and music player/manager all rolled into one.
