One really great thing about the Android is that it seems to be the primary app where a lot of early childhood educational software development happens and because of that there are many great companies out there that have a lot of good things to offer. Kids ABC Letters app for Android sells for $3.99 at the moment and it comes from Intellijoy, a company that is definitely starting to build a reputation for very good material.

Learn to match back and forth

The main point of ABC Letters Android app is to give your child the ability to match the letters to the various elements that are necessary for learning the alphabet.

This starts with your child actually getting down to business and learning the names of all the letters. They will get assistance from the app in doing that and by the time they go from start to finish they should be able to get through the alphabet with no problems whatsoever.

The fun doesn’t stop there though and that is what makes Android Kids ABC Letters app such a special application to have. Once your child has gone ahead and learned the alphabet, they will start to learn the shapes of the letters as well as the ability to recognize letters and put them into their proper alphabetical order even when they have been scrambled. Contextual organization is very important because it illustrates a complete understanding of the alphabet and that is exactly what your children will receive by the time they have finished with this software package.

Final Score

When your child is done with Kids ABC Letters app for Android, they will know the alphabet inside and out. They will joyously be able to recite it and they will be able to do all kinds of really fun things with scrambling and unscrambling all of the different letter combinations. At that point, they will be good to graduate to actually being able to phonetically pronounce the sounds that letters make when they are in words and that is something that Kids ABC Letters Android app will prepare them for extremely well. To many parents this makes it worth the $3.99 cost and when everything has been said and done we have given this online Android app a final score of 9 out of 10.

When the global village idea got postulated 30 years ago it was a quaint notion. Now, it seems like the most obvious thing ever and that is why people are starting to learn how to go back and forth between different languages. The Oxford Italian Dictionary TR app for Android will allow you to do this with English and Italian.

English-Italian-English

The whole point of Android Oxford Italian Dictionary TR app is to give people that are English speakers the chance to learn how to speak Italian. This means that you can not only go from the English word you are thinking of to the Italian equivalent, but you can also look up an Italian word to find out what it means in English. The ability for you to quickly and efficiently do this by typing the word in is exactly what you need to do in order to figure out how to speak the language and learn how the words relate to each other across languages.

Multiple words, phrases and translations

Different words are contained within the dictionary to give you the chance to do what was stipulated in the previous section. However, if your language skills are progressing and you’d like to take it even further, you can go right ahead with 300,000 different phrases and 450,000 different translations. The phrases will allow you to go from an English phrase to the proper phrase in Italian and the translation will allow you to actually figure out what is going on during the spur of the moment. The ability of Oxford Italian Dictionary TR Android mobile app to not only give you some theoretical grounding in the language but also help you out in a sticky translation situation with practical discussion is something that is highly valuable to anyone that would like to go from one of the languages to the other.

Final Score

The Oxford Italian Dictionary TR app for Android is not going to have the same widespread appeal as other applications, but it will definitely give people looking for ways to learn Italian the chance to do so with a relatively easy to use tool at their side. That certainly makes it a valuable app to a select group of people. As a result of the use we think people can get from Oxford Italian Dictionary TR Android app, we have decided to give it a final score of 8 out of 10.

Not too long ago, we profiled an app called Numbers 10 for Android. It is an app that was created by Five Pumpkins, a digital company involved in creating early childhood education apps that we love. Numbers 10 is intended for children that are at least a year old, but if your child is two years old or alternatively has already polished that app off, you can give them the advanced version of the app which is Numbers 50 App for Android.

Putting the education pedal to the metal

Numbers 50 is a supercharged version of Numbers 10 and this is true in more ways than one. The most obvious difference between the two apps is that the flashcards in this app will teach your child to count to 50 instead of just to 10. There is an obvious difference in difficulty level between the two for this reason, but there is so much more than can be done with this app as well which is why it is more than just an age difference that is required here.

A good example of a difference between the two apps is the fact that children will have the chance not only to place out of order numbers back in order, but they will also learn all of the written and spoken elements to the numbers so that they should be able to order, read and write all of the numbers from 1 to 50 by the time they are done with this app. This is somewhat more intensive than Numbers 10 and that is why Five Pumpkins asks that children be 2 years old or already have completed Numbers 10 before they tackle Numbers 50.

Quiz Mode still there

Don’t worry about missing out on the quizzes from Numbers 10 for the Android as you’ll find all those quizzes are right there with Numbers 50 app for Android as well. Quiz Mode is alive and well and even though your child might be older and likely won’t accidentally trigger a call, the lock mode is still there with quizzes in this app to make absolutely sure that it does not happen.

Final Score

Advanced early childhood education such as counting to 50 is something that all children have to learn. The earlier, the better. Numbers 50 Android app can help you get that done and that’s why we’ve given it a final score of 10 out of 10.

Some of the best educational apps available for the Android are ones that are not really that flashy and don’t accomplish that much, but which nevertheless are extremely useful to have at your side. An example of this is the Scientific Calculator app for Android, something that is free to download and highly functional.

Quick calculations no matter what you need calculated

Many scientific calculators that attempt to take the place of handheld calculators fall short because the calculation speed slows down the more complicated the actual equation happens to be. This is not the case with this Scientific Calculator Android app. No matter how complicated your equation happens to be, the calculator will return the result with the same speed that you would get from a handheld device.

Easy to put arguments together

Another reason that computerized scientific calculator emulation tools have fallen short of their handheld electronic counterparts is that they don’t really have an easy input system. A mouse is nowhere near as good as an entry pad and therein is the problem. However, this one is basically just a scientific calculator skin put over your Android smart phone. You have basically the same interface as your normal handheld calculator and you don’t have to carry two things around to get it.

Full range of functions available

One final problem for using the scientific calculator on the Android is that it gives you the full range of functions. Many other scientific calculators fell short because they didn’t have the full range of functions, but this is not at all a problem for this particular app. In fact, it might actually be a strength of it since you can do everything on this app that you could do with your handheld scientific calculator and the display is more efficient and user friendly than most of them turned out to be.
Final Score

Overall, the Scientific Calculator app for Android is not flashy or over the top, but it definitely does incorporate some important elements into the overall design. It is ultra-functional and useful in an easy-to-see way and that certainly does give it some points. The final score of 8 out of 10 is not necessarily because it is lacking in any elements, but more so because of the fact that other mobile apps were reviewed on this site that were just as good but also a lot more intricate in their overall design.

State Capitals is a handy app created by Eric Burke is just one example of the many different flashcard type programs that have been created for this interface. Whether this interface just seems suited to them or whether some other force is at work is unknown, but the Android interface is much better than flashcards as this app illustrates.

Learn the Capitals of All 50 States

Learning the capitals of the states within the United States is not as easy as you might think. More often than not, the obvious answer is the wrong answer and in many cases the top two or even the two three obvious answers are all wrong and there is some other city that actually turns out to be the capital. Cities like New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Seattle and Miami are all not state capitals, so learning which cities are state capitals is certainly something that you can brag about at a later date.

Mark Certain Cards As Known

Eventually, you’re going to be confident that you know the capital for a particular state. Well, a simple long tap on your phone will mark that capital with a checkmark and allow you to put that one aside while you learn the capitals of the remaining states. In this way, you can slowly and systematically work your way through the deck in a way that will allow you to remember all of the state capitals for a long period of time after you’ve stopped studying.

Quiz Yourself After Learning

Two of the options are great for quizzing yourself using the State Capitals mobile app for the Android system. The first is the shuffle option which shuffles the deck and allows you to draw cards that you can then answer. Tap the card to check your answer on the back and then sort the deck to get a new feel for the states and see if once again your skills at learning the capitals have allowed you to know what those capitals are no matter what order they’re tossed at you in.

Final Score

State Capitals Android App allows you to know the 50 capitals, go at your own pace and it also never forgets where you left off if you turn it off and then back on. It is great like that and even though it is simple software, we’ve given State Capitals App for Android a final score of 8.5 out of 10.

Using an Android smartphone, can you find out the name of the Argentinean player who was sent off in the 1990 world cup finals Vs. Italy? Well, one way out is to use the Google Search feature, and browse through tens of websites in the search results, and you might find the answer. Else, you can use KGB (not the Russian spy agency) Android app to dig out the precise answer, but for a price of $0.99. Well, you might not want to spend nearly a dollar for such simple trivia poser. But there may be questions to which you need the precise answer in no time, such as ‘what is a good deal hotel in New Jersey for a given day?’ and you don’t really mind shelling out less than a dollar for it, at that moment.

The Deal

KGB Android app comes with three free answers offer. From fourth question onwards, it will cost the user $0.99. The KGB app for Android costs a moderate $1.99 per license, for the user.

KGB Android App Uses

KGB Android mobile application gives detailed info to queries. For example, if the query is about economic hotel accommodation in some place, KGB provides not only the hotel name and the rates, but also the map indicating the precise location of the said hotel, contact info, and related questions other KGB users have asked earlier. Users can send such received information with other Android users via email if they wish so. In fact, it is not email alone; KGB replies can also be posted on Facebook page newsfeed to show it to others in the friends list.

Further, KGB app for Android lets users maintain a complete searchable history of all previously asked questions, and answers for future reference. But, the biggest plus with KGB Android app is that users can also browse the questions asked by others for free. It saves a lot of money.

Final thoughts

KGB is a useful addition to one’s Android phone, if you travel a lot or have special liking for trivia. Some might argue that $0.99 is a tad costly for a question. But, since KGB Android app offers precise and comprehensive answers in virtually no time, it saves the users of the time they might have to spend on searching the web otherwise. There are situations in which information is worthier than $1, and in such circumstances, KGB app for Android comes really handy.
