Need to quickly see if there will be rain at home or at work today? Partly Sunny for iPhone could help you out. It is a well-designed weather app that provides you with all the relevant weather info in one glance. You can set up to 9 locations and see temperature, precipitation chance, and conditions in the main list view. You can download Partly Sunny app for $2.99 from iTunes.

What is it about?

Partly Sunny app for iPhone features quick glances of what’s happening in the sky at your current location and your favourite locations. In this season of hurricanes and storms, it is important that you remain updated about weather changes and what is happening near you. It also provides you a nice forecast of what’s happening throughout the hour, the day, and the week at your locations.

You can set up the app to show weather from nine different locations. Tap on each locale to catch detailed weather info from that location, down to specific days. You can also catch hour-by-hour graphs that plot temperature, chance of precipitation, cloud cover, humidity, UV index, wind etc. For US and UK locations, users have access to precipitation-intensity graph for the next hour when it’s raining or snowing. For US locations, you can enjoy further information such as links to pollen forecasts and NOAA weather offices for winter-weather predictions, tropical forecasts, as well as marine forecasts. The app also provides widget support; you can place the widget on the home screen and catch a detailed look at your selected location’s forecast in one glance.

Users can choose between a light theme and a dark theme. Personally, I prefer the lighter white theme. The UI is minimalistic at best. But for such an app, it is the information that matters rather than the look and feel of the interface. The app is also slick and responsive.

Partly Sunny app for iPhone is a comprehensive weather app that let you catch relevant weather info on your selected locations in a quick glance. Tap on the locations to find more detailed information, including graphs, temperature plots and forecasts. The UI layout is largely user friendly. The minimalistic design helps you to focus on the info you’re looking for. It is also stable. Check it out if you’re in the lookout for a reliable third party weather application to go with your iPhone.
