RadarOmega Android App Review
RadarOmega for Android is the first radar application of its type to display high-resolution Level 2 and Level 3 radar data in a rich and familiar mapping user experience, similar to Google Maps. RadarOmega offers the highest quality radar data, as well as the ability to link to cyclonePORT and a variety of meteorological sensors. Users of RadarOmega may now communicate with the Tempest WeatherFlow weather station. Use the Tempest API to connect directly or cyclonePORT to stream your station data. Users may also link the Davis WeatherLink to broadcast sensor data via cyclonePORT. RadarOmega offers high-resolution radar data for the United States, Canada, Germany, Australia, and South Korea, among other countries.

When the National Weather Service issues a Severe Thunderstorm, Tornado, Flash Flood Warning, Special Weather Statements, or Special Marine Warning, the location and warning details are displayed in the app. To colour label probable storm impacts, RadarOmega employs the National Weather Service’s storm related impact statements. You may go through the list of active warnings, choose one to learn more about it, and even zoom in on it on the map. There are five alternative options to show on the map inside the METAR settings: temperature, dewpoint, wind direction, wind speed, and visibility. The state/county boundary overlay can be turned on and off.You may also change the colour and thickness of the county and state boundaries. To get storm reports for at least 24 hours, use the storm report option. Tornado reports, wind damage reports, recorded wind speed reports, and hail reports are among the types of reports available.
Enhanced data for all subscribers
Storm intensity, precipitation rates, and velocity intensity values may all be viewed using the radar data viewer tool. You may also obtain current conditions as well as longer forecasts for any specified spot using the radar data viewer tool. RadarOmega gives you the power to view true radial weather radar data, whether you’re scanning reflectivity for a mesocyclone’s tell-tale hook echo, trying to pinpoint the landfall of a hurricane’s eyewall, or looking for small features like velocity couplets in the storm relative radial velocity product. The lightning density for a certain time interval may be seen via lightning detection. More strikes per minute indicate a storm that is fairly vigorous. If you choose to purchase an Alpha, Beta, or Gamma membership, this will be recorded in your Google Play account. The app is priced $9.64 to buy from Google Play Store.
