Paper Camera App for Android Review
Paper Camera app for Android, from JFDP Labs LTD, is a fantastic photography app that lets you add cool filters to your photos. While ‘adding filters’ might not be anything new to talk about, with this app, you’ll see the effects in action as soon as you look through the Android viewfinder (i.e. before you actually click the picture). Paper Camera Android app comes with a price tag of $1.49 per license.
What Paper Camera App Does?
Paper Camera app for Android offers 11 different effects that are cartoon and sketch based. The effects available are Comic Boom, Sketch Up, Acquarello, Old Printer, Con Tours, Neon Cola, Bleaching, Gotham Noir, Half Ton, Granny’s Paper and Pastel Perfect. These effects can be added to existing photos in the library, or the ones that you’re going to click/just captured.
When you open Paper Camera application, you cannot but notice the graphical effects. The camera controls are so designed to look like paper. As seen in the picture below, there are few settings for real-time adjustments of contrast, brightness, and lines. The red camera icon can be tapped to click a photo. Tapping on the green list icon gives you options to add filters to existing photos in the library. Click on the refresh button to return settings to their default values.
The arrows on the top-right, above the view finder, take you through the different filters. As you scroll through the different effects, you could simultaneously view the effects superimposed on the selected picture in the view finder. There is also an option to go directly to the gallery from within the app.
Once the filters are applied, you can share the photos through SNS, email or MMS if you wish so.
On the downside, the photos taken using Paper Camera app are found to be of low resolution. Hopefully, Paper Camera designers will solve this shortcoming in the coming versions.
Conclusion

Verdict: Handy one to have in your Android device if you want a straightforward way of taking some pictures with a twist.
