What makes Private Diary stands out from other apps in its genre is its nicely designed UI. It has a nice looking layout with a pleasing color theme. You can even change the color of the font as you wish. The app also has a password protect option, if enabled, will sync automatically with your Private Diary online account. Alternatively, you can backup your entries to SD card. If something goes wrong and your entries were wiped out by accident, you can recover it back from the SD card anytime.

It is pretty easy to create a new entry; simply click on the ‘+’ button and fill up the require sections like categories, tags, date and even emoticons. You can write whatever you want, but the emoticon can be used only once, next to the entry title. It would have been nice had you were able to use in the main text. Further, you can filter entries by tags/category. You can also list entries by date (you got to input the correct date range).

Android Private Diary app let you send entries as text file to email. Alternatively, you can copy entries to Twitter or send it via SMS client. Other features include auto-backup on exit, calendar view, location feature, ability to attach photos, and upload and download backuped entries to DropBox folder. Private Diary is not ad-supported.
