It is always cool to have certain information about your network connections at your fingertips. SignalCheck Pro app for Android is a simple app that allows users to check the true signal strength of their connections. Unlike the standard Android signal bars, which typically only display the 1xRTT (voice and low-speed data) signal strength, SignalCheck Pro app for Android will display the detailed signal information about all of your device’s connections, including 1X, GSM, EV-DO or eHRPD (3G), LTE (4G), and Wi-Fi. A configurable widget may be added to your home screen, if you want to have a one-touch view of your realtime connection type and signal strengths. SignalCheck Pro for Android also displays the current connection type along with the carrier name for each connection, even while roaming. A standout feature is the notification icon(s). A user-customizable icon shows your data connection strength in the notification area at the top of the screen, and more details can be seen in the pull down menu. Your phone’s signal strength is always at the top of the screen along with your other icons. That is, there is no need to open the app to check your connections. The icons are customizable, showing signal bars, connection type, digital signal strength in dBm, or connection type with signal strength. Further, a secondary icon can be enabled to always display the 1xRTT signal for users who wish to compare their signal strengths realtime.

If you are curious, SignalCheck Pro app also let you the ID of the tower you’re connected to at any given moment. The app also provides an option to reset all your connections from with your phone. But this requires rooting the device. Last but not the least, the app is a great compliment to the Sensorly app that let you check your signal strengths and map them out so other users can see the data as well.
